Our energetic client wanted to transform a fragmented layout into a flowing space with French flair, while maximizing storage and making it kid- and dog-friendly. We evaluated various layouts, from retaining walls to a wide-open design, and the homeowners chose the latter for a fabulous entertaining area. We worked closely with the builder and woodworker to perfect details, like incorporating dog dishes into the blue island and installing a focal wood fume hood.
For the fireplace room, we swapped a door for a window to create a cozy seating area, painted dark beams, and added custom white woodwork. We introduced functional cabinetry for coats and boots, and maintained continuity with blue accents from the kitchen. The room now serves as a well-used, stylish space.
